To assist in the delivery of care to service users who have a variety of needs, under the direction of a registered practitioner.
To implement and evaluate care within a prescribed framework as a member of the care team ensuring that high quality, individualised care is delivered and that this promotes recovery and wellbeing and maximises independence.
To complete physical health checks including phlebotomy and ECG, in line with NICE guidelines.

Education and Qualification
Essential
- Completion of a competency-based programme within probationary period OR equivalent demonstrable experience
- Knowledge of care related procedures, clinical observation, relevant legislation
Desirable
- Level 3 qualification in a healthcare related subject OR a portfolio of equivalent demonstrable experience
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Previous care experience
- Person centred care approach
- Understanding of mental health and/or learning disabilities needs
- Safeguarding knowledge
- Awareness of carer needs
Skills and Competencies
Essential
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to undertake PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) training
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Effective Time Management
Desirable
- Ability to prioritise tasks
- Accurate record keeping skills
