The main duties for the role is to support and deliver high quality mental health research and support the delivery of commercial and non-commercial research studies within the Trust and the Research Delivery Network; North East North Cumbria. Role includes the recruitment of participants, obtaining informed consent, and collecting the research data accurately. You will need to provide complex verbal and written information in the process of explaining study involvement.
You will work closely with study teams, clinical teams and other external organisations. You will also use a variety of standardised research measures and update and maintain entries onto trial databases in accordance with relevant protocols and Good Clinical Practice guidelines.

Qualifications
Essential
- Primary clinically-related degree (AHP, Psychology, Nursing or equivalent)
- Accredited Clinical Research Practitioner or working towards accreditation within 3 months of start date
Desirable
- Post-graduate qualification in research, psychology or related degree.
Experience
Essential
- Knowledge of and clinical experience working within a mental health service
- Experience of mental health assessments/interviews
- Previous experience of taking part in research projects with service users and staff
- Previous experience of using clinical and research databases to access and manage data
Knowledge
Essential
- Knowledge of basic research methods and statistical procedures
- Completing and scoring of research rating scales
- Understands the research process and the application of research in the clinical governance agenda.
Skills
Essential
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to negotiate with and influence staff who are not managed within the team.
- Ability to work autonomously and using initiative on a daily basis
- Competence in standard PC packages (Word, Excel).
- Presentation skills
