Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacist with an interest in Oncology and/or Haematology to join our Pharmacy Cancer team in...

You will work with other cancer services pharmacists to deliver clinical pharmacy services to the Cancer Services Directorate. This will include the clinical screening of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT) prescriptions on the Chemocare prescribing system. In addition, the post holder will contribute to the TPN ward service, reviewing individual patients' nutritional requirements and working within the multidisciplinary team to tailor treatment plans.

You will also provide cover in our licensed aseptic unit which supports clinical pharmacy services by providing SACT and CIVAS. Duties will include supervision and release of individually prepared and batch manufactured medicines.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualification & Knowledge

Essential

  • Master's Degree MPharm.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

Experience

Essential

  • Professionally accountable for own actions.

Desirable

  • Experience as a clinical pharmacist.
  • Experience of working in a range of clinical specialities.

Aptitude & Abilities

Essential

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Evidence of promotion and evaluation of best practice.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to self-study and self-development.
  • Presentation skills. Able to influence senior pharmacy and medical staff, the multidisciplinary team and management.
  • Innovative and well organised.
