In this role, you will

  • Lead nurse-led clinics -- independently reviewing, planning, treating and safely discharging patients with a wide range of hand injuries and conditions.
  • Work collaboratively across the Hand Unit -- complementing and supporting the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver seamless, high-quality care.
  • Ensure smooth, efficient clinic flow -- helping to maintain a well-organised, patient-centred outpatient environment.
  • Apply specialist expertise in wound care -- including plastics post-operative reviews, to manage complex wounds confidently and effectively.
  • Co-ordinate staffing, clinic activity and theatre bookings -- playing a key part in maximising service efficiency. This operational leadership responsibility is undertaken on a rotational basis.

Qualifications

Essential

  • NMC Registration
  • Significant post registration experience, and experience at a band 5 post

Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of management / leadership skills gained through theoretical knowledge and or experience.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of an outpatient setting
  • Evidence of teaching/ nurturing

Skills

Essential

  • Manages the clinical workload, prioritising and re-prioritising.

Desirable

  • Deputising for senior sister/ charge nurse/ clinical nurse specialist
