- Ensure timely, effective, and improved care for patients with complications of SACT (early recognition, better treatment, early nurse led discharge and reduce length of stay)
- Ensure timely, effective and improved care of patients with complications of cancer (early recognition, better treatment, rapid referral back to specialist oncology team, palliative care team etc)
- To ensure proactive delivery of preventative care to minimise the risks of the effects of chemotherapy
- Working in conjunction with the Oncologists/Haematologists/Inpatient Areas.
- The post holder will provide advice and implement patient care in an area which requires specific clinical knowledge, skills, and experience
- The post holder will work alongside other clinical colleagues in oncology, haematology, palliative care, emergency care, acute medicine, radiology, and pathology to ensure quality of care to the patients is maximised. This will include the development of clinical guidelines and education programmes.

Qualifications
Essential
- Degree in relevant subject
- Current Professional Registration (NMC)
- Evidence of CPD
- Teaching and assessing qualification
- Leadership qualification or completion of leadership course
- Advanced Health Assessment or working towards
- Non-Medical Prescriber or working towards
- Systemic Anti-Cancer course.
Desirable
- Masters degree or working towards
Experience
Essential
- Extensive experience in a senior role in Oncology/Chemotherapy/Haematology.
- Highly developed communication skills
- Ability to successfully manage people and change.
- Experience of conflict management
- A good understanding of HR policy
Knowledge
Essential
- A knowledgeable clinician with the ability to apply evidence-based practice.
- An understanding of current issues relating to the NHS
- A knowledge of professional policies and procedures
- Knowledge of clinical governance & a commitment to clinical supervision and staff development
Skills
Essential
- Basic understanding of IT and technology
- Able to prioritise and meet deadlines effectively.
- Good management of own and others time
- Able to use initiative and make decisions.
