Clinical Fellows are integral to the delivery of the anaesthetic services, and work as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team caring for patients undergoing complex neurosurgical and neuroradiological procedures. You will provide high-quality perioperative care, adhering to best practice, for patients undergoing both elective and emergency complex neurosurgical and neuroradiological procedures, as well as contributing to the management of patients admitted to the Neurocritical Care Unit adhering to .
The role also includes participation in the resident on-call rota covering both emergency theatres and neurocritical care. Fellows will perform the same duties as other resident doctors within the department, offering excellent exposure to perioperative neuroscience, with opportunities to gain experience in advanced anaesthetic and critical care techniques. Knowledge and Qualifications
Essential
- FRCA or equivalent
- Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and hold a current licence to practise
Desirable
- Ambition to become involved in research activity
Experience
Essential
- Stage 2 training in Neuroanaesthesia (RCoA) or equivalent training in neuroanaesthesia
Desirable
- An aspiration to become a consultant in neuroanaesthesia
Skills and Abilities
Essential
- Demonstrates competent anaesthetic practice
Specific Requirements
Essential
- Those of a Resident Doctor in anaesthesia
