The Clinical Educator will work under the direction of the Practice Development Nurse/HCSW Lead in teaching and supporting HCSWs in the workplace.
The post holder will be expected to support across all workstreams within Practice Development and Education. This will also involve working clinically with a range of learners as well as HCSWs such as those undertaking inductions on the nurse bank, return to practice, pre and post registration programmes and Trainee Nursing Associates.
They will enhance the quality of the practice learning environment by providing support, educational input and development for Trust colleagues/educators and through acting as a role model in clinical practice with learners.
The post holder will be expected to use their initiative, analytical skills and judgement.
The post-holder will work autonomously to identified objectives.

Qualifications/training and professional development
Essential
- Registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the NMC register or clinical professional registered with the HCPC
- Supervisor and Assessor training or equivalent
Desirable
- Post graduate certificate in education or equivalent
Experience
Essential
- Experience of presenting/teaching within a formal setting
- Recent experience of working with students in an acute setting.
