Bolton NHS Foundation Trust and Bolton Borough Council are working in partnership to deliver efficient and effective patient-centred, integrated services across the health economy to reduce hospital admissions and support people to remain at home.

In order to meet this objective, we are seeking to appoint a Clerical Officer who is a flexible individual with excellent communication, IT and organisational skills to become part of the clerical team within the Community Services Division.

The posts are 37.5 hours per week over 365 days including all bank holidays on a rota basis . The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate a flexible approach to working hours to cover the service at times of peak pressure.

Duties will include: Processing referrals, inputting data, taking telephone queries, preparing reports, booking appointments, cancelling clinics photocopying and other general office duties.

Experience of working within healthcare would be preferable, however full training will be provided for the successful candidate(s)

Duties will include: Referral Processing, Systems & IT Use, Communication & Coordination, dealing with telephone calls, emails, liaising with internal and external teams, filing, photocopying, scanning and other general administrative tasks

You will be joining a team of clerical officers that offer a meaningful and rewarding role at the heart of a vital public service. The team play a key part in supporting the smooth coordination of health and social care referrals. you will be joining a compassionate, multi-disciplinary team where your administrative skills directly contribute to the outcomes for the community

Education

Essential

  • English and mathematics GCSE or equivalent grade 4-9

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a busy office environment
  • NVQ Administration level 2 or word processing qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a busy office environment with the ability to prioritise
  • Ability to following instructions accurately
  • Experience of working under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Understanding of confidentiality and GDPR

Desirable

  • Understanding of referral pathways
  • Evidence of maintaining information systems specifically LE2.2

  • Strong attention to detail for accurate data recording/inputting
  • Efficient time management

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Desirable

  • Awareness of safeguarding principles

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of using a range of computer software packages to produce accurate
  • Knowledge of working in a similar office/administrative or customer service role
  • Knowledge and Experience of dealing with customers/clinicians and work peers, communicating effectively and professionally

Desirable

  • Knowledge of working within a healthcare environment
