The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining all areas of the surgery, including:
- Patient waiting areas
- Reception and administration offices
- Clinical and non-clinical rooms
- Kitchen and staff areas
- Corridors and communal areas
- Four patient and staff toilet facilities
Duties will include
- Vacuuming and mopping floors
- Dusting and wiping surfaces
- Cleaning desks and workstations
- Emptying bins and replacing liners
- Cleaning toilets, sinks and washroom facilities
- Restocking toilet paper, hand towels and soap dispensers
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control
- Reporting any maintenance or health and safety concerns
- Due to the nature of the working hours, the successful candidate will be required to work independently and adhere to the practice's lone working procedures at all times.
- The successful candidate will be required to act as a key holder, including opening and/or securing the premises, ensuring the building is left secure and any security concerns are reported appropriately.

Responsible ToPractice Operations Manager
Job PurposeTo provide a high-quality cleaning service throughout Almond Road Surgery, ensuring all areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation.
Main Responsibilities- Clean all designated areas of the surgery to agreed standards.
- Vacuum carpets and floor coverings.
- Mop hard floors.
- Dust and wipe all surfaces, ledges and skirting boards.
- Clean desks, work surfaces and furniture.
- Empty waste bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Clean and sanitise toilets, sinks and washroom facilities.
- Replenish paper towels, toilet rolls and soap dispensers.
- Clean kitchen and staff welfare areas.
- Ensure cleaning equipment is used safely and stored correctly.
- Comply with infection prevention and control procedures.
- Report maintenance issues or hazards to management.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times due to the nature of the healthcare environment.
Working HoursThe role is undertaken outside of surgery opening hours:
- Monday to Friday
- Either 6:30am 8:00am or from 6:30pm onwards
Hours to be agreed with the successful candidate.
Almond Road Surgery is a busy and growing GP practice based in St Neots, caring for approximately 8,000 patients.
We are a training practice and work closely with a wide multidisciplinary team, including GPs, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Paramedics, Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, GP Assistants and Social Link Prescribers.
