The postholder will effectively lead modernisation in medical management practices, including but not exclusive to: e-job planning, rostering and appraisal processes. They will have the drive and ambition to deliver a complex, challenging and exciting agenda whilst promoting an organisational culture that actively delivers the Trust's Vision and Values. They will positively engage clinicians, other colleagues, service users and other stakeholders within Place and ICB, in support of developing and sustaining our approach to delivering the best quality care. The postholder will particularly promote the further embedding in their portfolio areas in the organisation, our values of We Care, We Listen, and We Deliver in all productivity aspirations.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Medical Practitioner with current, unblemished GMC registration and membership of the relevant Royal College.
- Satisfactory record of continuous professional development
- Evidence of participation in management development opportunities
Experience
Essential
- Evidence of working at or reporting to Board-of-Director level
- A proven track record of medical leadership underpinned by an understanding of the NHS and its relationships with Primary Care and Local Government
- Extensive experience as a senior clinician.
- Evidence of significant experience in leading and influencing professional groups to secure cross-system change.
- High level of managerial competency with the ability to lead and manage change in a complex and dynamic environment.
Desirable
- Relevant knowledge and experience in the delivery of mental health services
Knowledge
Essential
- Knowledge of NHS strategy and policy and its impact at system and organisation level.
- Sound knowledge of clinical governance and effective systems of medical management such as job planning, appraisal and clinical assessment
Desirable
- Awareness and understanding of the requirements of the NHS operating environment as set down by Monitor (the regulator of foundation Trusts)
- Understanding of the NHS political and operational environment
- Knowledge of and commitment to Service Governance
- Knowledge of information governance as applicable to the NHS Knowledge of the development agenda
