For this pivotal role, we are seeking an individual who can demonstrate ambition for the Trust and its intention to make an application to become and Advanced Foundation Trust alongside a proven track record as a senior finance leader. You will be ready to contribute across the breadth of the Board's agenda including strategy development
You will provide strong, visible, compassionate and values-based leadership and bring a deep commitment to equalities and anti-racism. You will possess excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. An active commitment to the values and ethos of the Trust, with a focus on delivering quality services for our patients, is vital.

Qualifications
Essential
- Educated to degree level, ideally masters, or equivalent experience
- A recognised professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, CIPFA or CCAB equivalent).

- Robust performance management and improvement skills, including the ability to use data, assurance reporting, and predictive insight to drive productivity and quality improvement
- High-level influencing and stakeholder management skills, with credibility to represent the Trust and build trusted partnerships across systems
- Commitment to robust governance and risk management, ensuring effective controls, accountability, and assurance
- Visible, inclusive, and compassionate leadership style that promotes an open culture, empowers teams and role-models high professional standards
- Ability to develop leadership capability and talent, including succession planning and performance development
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and to reducing health inequalities through population health approaches and neighbourhood-based models of care
- Resilience and personal effectiveness to operate in a high-profile, high accountability role, managing competing priorities and delivering through others
Knowledge and experience
Essential
- Significant senior financial leadership experience within a complex healthcare organisation (ideally NHS), with accountability for financial performance and control against national, regional, and local standards
- Demonstrable record of delivering financial performance against plans, including delivery of cost improvement programmes and effective management of income and expenditure
- Experience of operating at Board / Executive level, contributing to organisational strategy, governance and assurance, and effective decision making
- Experience of building and maintaining effective partnerships across health and care systems, including commissioners, provider partners, and wider stakeholders
- Understanding of the role of digital, data and operational intelligence in improving quality, performance, and productivity
- Experience of working with, or oversight of, commercial operations, subsidiaries, and/or joint ventures, ensuring alignment with NHS priorities and governance requirements
