Experienced with SytmOne -Minimum of 1 year experience in GP practice
Speaking with patients face-to-face, over the phone, or online to understand their needs and direct them to the most suitable clinician or service.
Booking, cancelling, and rearranging appointments while ensuring urgent cases are prioritised correctly.
Explaining GP practice services, NHS pathways, and self-care options. Helping patients understand where they can receive the most appropriate and timely support.
Helping elderly patients, carers, patients with disabilities, language barriers, or complex needs to access healthcare and additional support services.
Managing common patient queries such as test results, prescription requests, fit notes, registration forms, and follow-up appointments.
Recognising concerns involving vulnerable adults, children, domestic abuse, mental health crises, or patients at risk, and following safeguarding procedures appropriately.
Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records, documenting conversations, referrals, and actions taken using the practice clinical system.
Working in line with NHS guidelines, confidentiality rules, GDPR, safeguarding policies, equality and diversity standards, and practice procedures.
- Interact with patients to provide and process information in response to enquiries, concerns and requests about NHS/practice services.
- To ensure that all patients have a positive experience.
- To work as part of the Patient Services Team in a professional manner to provide high quality service, administration and support services to all clients, visitors, GPs and Allied Health Professionals.
- To follow all standard operating procedures and policies to ensure working in an efficient and courteous manner at all times.
- To provide a professional call handling service and associated administration duties.
- To embed and sustain an ethos of care navigation throughout the team; providing advice and guidance and signposting patients to the most appropriate clinician/service.
- To record all essential information accurately.

Qualifications
Essential
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths (or equivalent).
- A minimum of 1 year experience with SystmOne.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Competent in the use of IT.
- Ability to deal confidently and courteously with people both in person and over the telephone.
- Ability to work flexibly as a team member.
- Able to work on own initiative and prioritise workload.
- Empathetic, honest & caring.
- Able to work under pressure.
Desirable
- Experience in a patient facing/customer service role
