The post holder plays a key role in ensuring patients receive seamless, high-quality care by coordinating multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, managing referrals and patient pathways, and maintaining accurate patient lists. Working closely with clinical teams, they will ensure all relevant clinical information and imaging is available ahead of meetings, accurately capture outcomes and decisions, and support the efficient progression of patient care. Through meticulous data management, the role also contributes to service improvement, audit requirements, and clinical governance, helping to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care.

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration (or equivalent experience)

Desirable

  • Evidence of further training or development in healthcare administration or MDT coordination
  • Knowledge of RTT waiting time standards or patient pathway targets

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Experience working in an administrative or coordination role
  • Experience of data entry, validation, and maintaining accurate records

Desirable

  • Previous NHS experience, ideally within cardiology or cardiothoracic services
  • Experience supporting MDT meetings or similar forums
  • Experience of audit, reporting, or performance tracking

Skills & Abilities

Essential

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and use of clinical system

Desirable

  • Experience using Trust systems such as EPR, CVIS/Tomcat, PACS, or similar
