Job description
The successful candidate will join a skilled multidisciplinary team including Consultants, Specialty Registrars, Specialist Doctors, ACPs, PAs, CNSs, ...
The Specialist Doctor will work as a senior clinician within the multidisciplinary team, demonstrating a high level of clinical autonomy and specialist expertise. The post holder will manage a broad range of patient presentations within their defined scope of practice.
The post holder will
- Manage their own caseload, including complex patients, and where appropriate act as the responsible named clinician.
- Provide specialist care for Haematology patients receiving CAR T-cell therapies, other ATMPs, systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) and Acute Oncology services.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals across acute and tertiary specialties to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.
- Contribute to the full patient pathway from assessment and diagnosis to treatment and follow-up.
- Play an active role within MDTs and contribute to leadership of clinical pathways where appropriate.
- Support service delivery, quality improvement and service development initiatives.
- Participate in teaching, training and supervision of junior medical staff and the wider MDT.
- Engage in clinical governance, audit, CPD, appraisal and revalidation activities.
- Work with consultant colleagues who will provide ongoing clinical support, mentorship and oversight.
The role is primarily focused on direct clinical care, with opportunities to contribute to leadership, management, teaching, research and service development through the job planning process.

Qualifications
Essential
- *MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- *MRCP or equivalent
- *Full GMC registration
- *Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice
- *Eligibility to live and work in the UK

- Minimum 12 years post full registration clinical experienceCompletion of ST1/CT1 and ST2/CT2 or equivalent experienceAt least 8 years specialist experience in Haematology and at least 4 years dedicated experience in a large CAR T centreAbility to verify complete details of employment historyEvidence of commitment to Haemtology Specialty and CAR T
