Essential

• Entry-level qualification: appropriately registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, Systemic Family Therapist, Child Psychotherapist, Mental Health Nursing, Social Work, Creative Therapist
• Evidence of continuing professional development as required by the HCPC/UKCP/RCN/SWE/ACP
• All applicants will require a professional training with professional registration with one of the following statutory bodies: the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC), Social Work England (SWE), Health and Care Professional's Council (HCPC), Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP), The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP

Essential

• Experience of mental health assessment, formulation and treatment/intervention of children with a range of psychological needs of a complex nature in child and adolescent mental health
• Experience of mental health assessment, formulation and treatment/intervention of children with a range of psychological needs of a complex nature in child and adolescent mental health
• Evidence of having worked as a clinical practitioner under supervision in CAMHS
• Experience in chairing/leading multi-disciplinary meetings
• Experience in working with diverse populations

• Experience of supervising junior clinical staff
• Evidence of teaching, training and presenting clinical information to a range of client groups, stakeholders and professionals
• Experience of facilitating groups for children, young people and / or their families.
• Experience of improving patient experience of the clinical environment

Essential

• Skills and knowledge of the theory and evidence base relevant to work with child and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities and/or neurodevelopmental disorder (including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD), and additional mental health needs and/or challenging behaviour.
• To select and administer a broad range of assessment tools and frameworks to evaluate outcomes and progress of children and families.
• Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health issues, child and adult protection, and equalities including the Children Act, child protection procedures, Human Rights Act and the Mental Health Act.
• Knowledge of factors affecting acceptability and accessibility of mental health care.

Desirable

• Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies in challenging to treat groups (including children with complex trauma, attachment difficulties, multiple placement breakdowns and/or difficult migration journeys).
• Knowledge of the application of specific therapeutic models to different needs

Essential

• Skills in providing teaching and training to other professional groups
• Consultation skills to work with the multi-professional team or other professional groups within own service
• Ability to work as an autonomous practitioner with appropriate level of clinical and managerial supervision
• Ability to work therapeutically with the client group, using a range of therapeutic interventions and specialisation in at least one model of therapy
• Ability to manage emotionally stressful situations such as working with victims of abuse or trauma, or with people who engage in severe self-harming or aggressive behaviour
