You must be able to support the provision of a full histopathology diagnostic service, which will include BMS cut-up, embedding, microtomy, H&E staining, special stains, and immunohistochemistry. The successful candidate must demonstrate commitment to improvements to quality and standards within their area of work.The laboratory operates a full rotation system through all sections. Training and encouragement is provided for CPD and other personal development.
The network offers an excellent opportunity to those seeking employment in a modern, innovative and high-profile organisation. Working shifts are 7.5 hours between 0700 to 1900, Monday- Saturday across the 2 Hospital sites on a rotational basis.

Qualification/Training
Essential
- Completed Biomedical Science degree acceptable to the HCPC.
Desirable
- Evidence of CPD
Experience
Essential
- Evidence of recent laboratory experience.
Desirable
- NHS laboratory experience
Knowledge
Essential
- Demonstrate knowledge of Biomedical Science in relevant discipline.
Desirable
- Knowledge of Quality Management systems.
- Laboratory Health and Safety knowledge.
Skills & Abilities
Essential
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Be able to follow complex documents such as a standard operating procedure.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Physically able to carry out some manual handling.
- To be able to communicate clinical information clearly using telephone and Laboratory Information Systems.
- Capability to perform laboratory tasks requiring fine manipulation dependent on discipline.
- Proficient in a range of IT skills.
