Biomedical Scientist Histopathology

As a

Biomedical Scientist, you will be responsible for promoting the Trusts core

out laboratory analyses under the direction of senior Biomedical Scientist

staff, ensuring results are reported accurately and appropriate records and

documentation are completed and maintained.

participate in departmental rosters as required and undertake duties according

to the operational requirements of the laboratory, including working flexibly

when necessary.

perform quality control procedures and review quality control results to

identify poor performance, investigating issues and taking appropriate

corrective action where required.

participate in the operation and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment,

reporting any faults or issues appropriately to support the safe and effective

functioning of equipment.

maintain appropriate laboratory supplies by monitoring and replenishing

consumables, reagents and equipment, while organising personal work activities

to make effective use of available time and resources.

ensure competent use of computerised data management systems and maintain

compliance with laboratory policies, Standard Operating Procedures, safety

requirements, statutory obligations, patient confidentiality and data

protection legislation.
