The Enhanced Access Primary Care Phlebotomist will work alongside and support the service-based primary health care team, delivering high-quality health care appropriate to the needs of the local population.

To take blood samples

from patients according to protocols, practices and standards required at the

request of a qualified medical practitioner.

Ensure as far as

possible, that all of the information on the request form is correct and any

problems are resolved in a timely manner according to FedNet policies and

procedures

Ensure that blood

sample bottles are accurately labelled

Checking and

maintaining stock of consumables to ensure the smooth running of the service.

Observe and maintain

a clean and tidy working environment at all times

Be responsible for reading and the action of

emails

In the course of seeking treatment, patients

entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to

their health and other matters. They do

so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their

privacy and act appropriately

In the performance of the duties outlined in

this job description, the post-holder may have access to confidential

information relating to patients and their carers, FedNet staff and other

healthcare workers. They may also have

access to information relating to the federation as a business

organisation. All such information from

We are a private limited company who provides NHS Services based in Primary Care, pooling the skills and resources of local GPs to provide large scale services as part of the local NHS Strategy to bring more services into the Community to help people stay well and at home.

Skills & Abilities

Essential

  • Ability to work independently following verbal or written instructions
  • Ability to prioritise workload and to adapt effectively to frequently changing tasks.
  • Being able to communicate in different settings
  • Excellent written and oral communication

Qualifications

Essential: - Qualified in Phlebotomy

Desirable: - Qualified to NVQ Level 3

Experience

Essential

  • Experience as a phlebotomist or practical training and
  • competency in venepuncture
  • Experience in a clinical or patient-facing role within the NHS
  • EMIS Web Experience
  • Working knowledge of a range of software packages, e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Desirable: - A minimum of 2 years experience within a healthcare setting; - Knowledge of System1 or Emis; - Experience working in a GP Practice
