As a Bank Maintenance Assistant at The Farndon Unit in Newark, you will be responsible for creating a safe and well-presented environment for vulnerable individuals. Your role involves ensuring facilities are suitable and safe, gardening, and conducting audits to repair faults. Working with an established team, you will handle various maintenance tasks and liaise with contractors to maintain the service. The role offers flexibility with the option to choose shifts that fit your schedule, a pay rate of £13.11 per hour plus a 12.07% uplift, and weekly pay. Join The Farndon Unit in Newark as a Bank Maintenance Assistant where you will be part of creating a well- presented and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society.

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the services facilities are fit for purpose, gardening and will regularly conduct audits to identify and repair any faults ensuring a safe environment for service users, staff and visitors.

Working alongside an established team, you will turn your hand to all maintenance-related tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service.

  • Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Utilising good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users is maintained.
  • Assisting in regular checks and maintenance.
  • Assisting in the repair and maintenance of all buildings.
  • Assisting in all decorating.
  • Liaising with a manager reporting all faults and defects.
  • Participating in a 1 week retaining on-call rota for the purposes of emergency maintenance.
  • Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing of all paperwork and tool checks.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Comply with system and procedures.
  • Have previous experience within a maintenance role.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Show courtesy and respect to residents at all times to ensure that they enjoy the highest quality of service.
  • Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings.

Location: The Farndon Unit, Farndon Road, Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG24 4SW

You will be working at the Farndon Unit, a purpose-built low secure hospital that offers personalised assessment and recovery-based treatment pathways, including a trauma-specific pathway, for women with complex care needs.

You will join the multidisciplinary team in providing specialist care for people with a diagnosis of severe and enduring Mental Health illness and/or Personality Disorder and/or mild Learning Disability.

The combination of general low secure wards and a recovery ward area (also within the low secure perimeter) provide a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering recovery and rehabilitation.
