Job title: Bank Ambulance Technician

Department: Patient and Events Medical Services

Hours: Bank, as and when required

Salary: Range 5 point 18 £30,285 pro rata, per annum. Fixed salary.

An opportunity has arisen to join CPG in the role of Ambulance Technician for our Event and Patient Transport service.

You will

  • Be responsible

for the assessment, treatment, diagnosis, and administering of medicines,

managing, discharging and referring patients in a range of urgent, emergency

and critical out of hospital settings, which may include but not limited to

ambulances, single response vehicles (SRV.

Provide ad hoc

training and supervision for junior staff ie first responders when on shift.

Be responsible for ensuring all Health and Safety regulations and Road

Traffic legislations are adhered to in relation to transportation and vehicle

safety including using advanced driving skills under blue light for emergency

response.

In return you will be part of a developing service in line with the

wider emergency and urgent care agenda, have access to training and a flexible approach

to work. You will receive ongoing support and development.

Experience

Essential

  • Full UK driving licence with Full C1 category with 2 years driving experience
  • Recent experience of driving within the local and surrounding area
  • Experience of involvement and caring for people in a health or social care environment
  • Experience of dealing with people in difficult and challenging circumstances applying customer care

  • Ability to drive safely and within road traffic legislation requirements
  • Good geographical knowledge of local area of responsibility
  • Ability to work to departmental procedures and where appropriate on own initiative

Qualifications

Essential

  • C1 driving entitlement
  • BTEC level 3 in Ambulance Aid (or IHCD Ambulance Aid Award) or FREC level 5
  • Advanced driving skills (Blue light qualification)
  • Evidence of ongoing personal development within the last 5 years

Desirable

  • P.C.V driving licence with manual transmission entitlement
  • Moving and Handling Certificate or willingness to undertake and complete
