Band 7 CBT therapist

To provide Cognitive Behaviour Therapy within the Core Community CAMHS Team, including assessment, formulation and intervention for children/young people as determined by need. To provide CBT consultation and support to other clinical members of the team who provide care and treatment. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the governance of psychological therapy practice with the specialism.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

To act at all times in accordance with the respective professional Code of Professional Conduct, Trust Policies and occupational protocols.

To contribute to the development and provision of services to children and young people and support co-production.

The post holder will be expected to support and offer CBT consultation to other clinicians within the team.

To perform all aspects of the role in accordance with Trust policies and other national bodies.

To work with a defined caseload of service users as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing assessment, care planning and care delivery for service users with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. This will include the provision of highly skilled professional care, CBT psychological interventions, group work, clinical assessment, risk assessments / risk management.

To provide specialist advice to other members of staff and trainees and act as a role model and to provide consultations, this may be as part of the Mood and Anxiety pathway.

To contribute to Team Lead on Call rota, Managing complaints and Access to Health records as required.

To liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and outside agencies in the implementation of patient care.

To ensure that care activities are research based and in keeping with changes in the field of activity.

To contribute to the development of ideas and innovative practice.

To continue to uphold CPD and supervision requirements in line with BABCP accreditation requirements and other professional bodies, for example NMC as appropriate.
