The Service Manager will provide operational, performance and business management support to Respiratory Medicine at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, working...

Lead the operational management of Respiratory Medicine services, ensuring delivery of national and local performance standards and service objectives.

Manage patient pathways, waiting lists and access targets, including RTT, cancer and diagnostic standards.

Analyse, validate and report complex operational data using advanced Excel and reporting systems to support decision-making, performance monitoring and service improvement.

Produce performance reports, identify trends, risks and opportunities, and develop recovery plans to achieve targets.

Provide accurate information to clinical and operational teams and maintain high standards of data quality and governance.

Lead audits, service reviews and improvement projects to enhance patient experience and operational efficiency.

Line manage administrative, reception and team leader staff, including recruitment, appraisal, training, attendance and performance management.

Support service planning, capacity and workforce management, monitor clinical capacity and waiting lists, manage resources and authorised budgets, investigate complaints and incidents, ensure compliance with Trust policies and governance requirements, and deputise for the Operations Manager as required

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent professional
  • Management qualification.
  • * Further management training and/or
  • relevant managerial experience to
  • post graduate diploma level.

Experience

  • Previous experience of working to
  • NHS key performance and national
  • standards.
  • * Experience in handling confidential
  • information.
  • * Experience with dealing with
  • patients, relatives and the general
  • public.
  • * Experience in managing in-patient
  • and outpatient waiting lists and
  • designing and implementing
  • mitigating actions as required.
  • * experience of analysing and
  • interpreting performance data to
  • support service improvement and
  • operational decision-making.
  • * Experience of developing and
  • monitoring action plans to deliver
  • performance targets.
  • * Experience of managing change and

Desirable

  • Experience of working to NHS key
  • performance and national standards
  • within Respiratory Medicine.

  • Experience of using Power BI or other
