We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Clerical Officer to join our Ultrasound/Radiology administration team. This is a full-time post (37.5...

A key responsibility is the management of radiology and ultrasound appointments, referrals, and waiting lists. This includes processing referrals, booking examinations, monitoring pathway targets, coordinating appointments with clinics, advising patients on preparation requirements, and escalating any risks to patient access or waiting time breaches.

The role requires effective liaison with clinicians, wards, transport services, and external agencies to ensure the efficient utilisation of clinical sessions and the smooth running of imaging services.

Accurate use of multiple clinical systems, including PAS, CRIS, PACS, and IEP, is essential to maintain patient records, manage imaging requests, and support timely patient care.

Education and qualifications: :

Essential

  • GCSE qualification (Maths, English, IT).
  • NVQ3 Customer Care or equivalent experience in a customer facing environment or a willingness to work towards an NVQ3.

Knowledge: :

Essential

  • Competent in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Understanding of information governance issues and how to manage confidential patient information and Data Protection Act.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Patient Administration Systems, e.g. CRIS, Clinicom, EPR & CERNER.
  • Understanding the trust policies on equality/diversity and Health & Safety policies.

Experience: :

Essential: - Experience of working in a customer orientated environment.; - Experience of working in an administrative role and office protocols and procedures.

Desirable: - Previous healthcare experience.; - Experience of handling confidential information.
