Ambulance Care Assistant 2 are often seen as entry level opportunities, with many Staff progressing into Emergency Medical Technician or even Paramedic roles. In line with the Trust's Starting Salary Procedure, all applicants will start at the bottom of the band for the position applied for, but can apply for a higher salary if they have previous experience relevant to the position.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential

  • Level 2 Diploma including Essential/Key/Core Skills at Level 2 in Application of Number and Communication or 5 GCSEs at grade C or above including Mathematics/Numeracy, English/Welsh and combined Sciences or any single science.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working with people
  • Experience of working alone as well as in a team

Desirable

  • Experience within the health or social care setting

Other

Essential

  • Full UK Driving licence, (with no more than three endorsement points) and no convictions for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Category C1 on the driving licence

Skills and Attributes

Essential

  • Team worker with a flexible approach
  • Able to offer empathy, understanding and sympathy in difficult and emotive situations.
  • Diplomatic with a caring, compassionate and supportive nature.
