  • Vision, Strategy and Business development

To contribute to service redesign of radiology in conjunction with directorate objectives.

Contribute to the development of the radiology department providing leadership within its strategic work plan as part of the radiology management structure.

Support the radiology management team in the procurement and installation of new equipment.

To ensure all Radiographers have met the departmental Standards of Competencies and have a record of their training and proficiency in all necessary protocols and procedures.

To assist all staff with their own programme of Continuous Professional Development in relation to plain film imaging.

Review departmental protocols in line with relevant evidence based practice and update as required.

Lead and advice staff on the planning process to meet Radiology and service targets

To work closely with the senior team to accommodate all requirements for effective delivery and ensure compliance with National Diagnostic targets.

To be the Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) for plain film and dental imaging.

To evaluate capacity and demand, lead on Datix and incidence investigation

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services, including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics, and maternity services. The Trust's services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit, and outpatient clinics.

Essential

  • HCPC registration
  • DCR/BSc in radiography
  • Experience of leading and managing a team
  • Previous organisational experience
  • Awareness of all legislation relevant to the post
  • Excellent communication. Ability to pass on knowledge to others in a clear and concise way.
  • Empathic and able to deal sensitively with patients from all cultural backgrounds
  • Possess an enquiring approach to work. Be proactive in suggesting ways of working
  • Able to work under pressure and to deal with stressful situations.

Desirable: - Participation in clinical audit
