Answer operational calls that come into the EOC. Utilise the chosen clinicaltriage software system in order to prioritise calls as soon as possible. Enterinformation into the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system accurately andpromptly. Provide pre-arrival advice to callers where appropriate.

Skills & Knowlegde

Essential

  • Ability to work using own initiative.
  • Able to prioritise and undertake numerous tasks simultaneously.

Desirable

  • Pre-existing basic understanding of medical terminology.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Two GCSE Grade C (or above) of which one must be in English or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths. OR One GCSE Grade C (or above) and pass Functional Skills Assessment Level 2 in English as part of the recruitment process.

Desirable

  • First Aid/First Person on Scene qualification.
  • NVQ in Customer Service or equivalent experience.

Personal Qualities, Abilities and Attributes

Essential

  • Ability to work consistently and stay calm in difficult and high-pressured situations.

Desirable

  • Flexibility to work varying shift patterns including weekends, nights and holidays.

Experience

Essential

  • Successful experience working/volunteering in a customer service environment.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working in the NHS.
  • Experience of working in a call centre environment.
