We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join our admin team, to carry out a full range of duties in order to provide an effective and ...

The post holder will be required to work in 3 different roles covering AMU and Medical SDEC which will involve:

  • To provide an efficient and effective reception for patients attending the departments, directing and helping visitors and patients with enquires.
  • To act as first line of contact for all telephone enquiries to the ward/unit, re-directing calls when necessary
  • To ensure patients are appropriately received, admitted, transferred, discharged and where necessary make outpatient appointments, using the Hospital Careflow system (electronic patient record system)
  • General administration duties such as filing, scanning, photocopying and tracking medical notes
  • To work closely with the multi-disciplinary ward team to maintain recognised standards promoting efficient ward management

Knowledge and Awareness

Essential

  • Knowledge of windows-based computer packages.
  • Understanding of the need for confidentiality.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety requirement.
  • Knowledge of the Healthcare/organisation environment.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Careflow system.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum of 3 Grade A-C GCSEs or relevant equivalent knowledge/experience.

Experience

Essential

  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Previous clerical/administrative experience.
  • Experience of direct telephone contact with patients/clients and staff.Experience of working with staff at all levels.

Desirable

  • Previous NHS experience.
  • Previous ward clerk experience.
