The post holder will prepare nursing workforce reports for internal and external submissions.
The post holder will play a key leadership role in delivery of the nursing productivity work, providing scrutiny and challenge regarding use of temporary staffing and working with nursing and human resource colleagues to deliver agreed reduction targets
The postholder will work in collaboration with colleagues in the Health Roster team to ensure effective utilisation of the workforce deployment system's capacity and realisation of the associated benefits.
The role will work in collaboration with our partners and other professional networks to ensure best practice in nurse recruitment and retention is shared across the system.

Education and Qualifications
Essential
- Current NMC registered nurse status, eligible to practice
- Educated to master level in relevant subject area Evidence of post qualifying and continuous professional development.
- Completion of appropriate leadership or management development programme
Desirable
- NHSE Safer Staffing module
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Demonstrate a successful track record of delivering effective nursing services as a senior nurse/manager, multifaceted healthcare environment including staff management, financial management and change management.
- Evidence of delivering successful nursing strategic and operational performance management and clearly demonstrating improvement in the quality of nursing care delivered at a strategic level.
- Experience of quality and risk management, to include experience in analysing and resolving complaints and incidents.
- Experience and understanding of safer staffing models and workforce planning
Desirable
- Experience of working at Matron/Senior Nurse level within the NHS
Skills abilities and attributes
Essential
- Analytical skills to interpret complex data and action
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral, with the ability to liaise and negotiate effectively at all levels
- Commitment to self-development with the ability to demonstrate knowledge of current policy and thinking affecting nursing profession
