  • Abstract and analyse clinical information from a wide variety of sources both paper and electronic formats
  • Assign diagnostic and procedural codes to episodes of care in a timely and accurate manner
  • Input codes into encoding software ensuring accuracy at all times
  • Convey complex coding rules to a wide variety of staff within the organisation eg clinicians, managers and information staff and with staff outside of the Trust
  • Identify and retrieve missing information in order to achieve departmental and Trust targets on completeness of coding

Essential: - Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software

Qualifications

Essential: - Must have A-level or equivalent in a Biology based subject

Essential: - A strong attention to detail, ability to work to a high standard and at a fast pace whilst maintaining accuracy

Desirable: - Previous experience of working with clinical data and systems
