This is a front of house role involving reception duties dealing with a high volume of patients and telephone calls. The successful applicant will be working with qualified Allied Health Professionals, Therapy Assistants, Clinical and Professional Leads and their administrative colleagues.We are seeking to appoint a positive individual to work within our very fast paced service. Applicants should be able to demonstrate organisational skills, be a committed team player with the ability to prioritise their own workload and work well under pressure. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential with the role requiring high levels of face-to-face and telephone communication.

You will be required to ensure that the patient experiences a smooth journey throughout their care from referral receipt to the last appointment. This role involves daily patient contact whether it is face to face, telephone, or email. You will be booking, cancelling, rescheduling and ensuring appointments are utilised to maximum capacity.

This role is based in the Therapies Department at North Middlesex University Hospital. You will be part of a small admin team working closely with outpatient therapists and patients. We are a friendly and supportive team looking for a self-motivated and flexible individual who is eager to develop and use their initiative.

Education and Trust Values

  • NVQ3 or equivalent or relevant practical experience.
  • Able to produce evidence of good basic education including numeracy and literacy skills

  • Managing busy workload and conflicting priorities.
  • Handling confidential and sensitive information in accordance with Data Protection Act
  • Excellent verbal and written communication both face to face and via telephone
  • Good knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft packages to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Desirable

  • Experience of front of house working in high volume public service
  • Understanding of NHS ethos, processes and systems
  • Full range of administrative procedures, software programmes
  • Able to diffuse potential conflict or aggressive situations

  • Ability to learn new software programmes
  • Maintains confidentiality and observes Governance and Data protection
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
