What will you do as our Therapy Assistant?
- Deliver Pulmonary Rehabilitation classes alongside clinicians
- Deliver home Pulmonary Rehabilitation progammes
- Manage a caseload of patients
- To participate with data collection and submission for local and national audits
- To support the service as it works towards accreditation
- Travel is an integral part of the role, it is essential that you are able to travel to a variety of clinic and community sites and to patients homes within Richmond borough during the working day.

NHS / Healthcare experience
Essential
- 3+ years of experience working in NHS / Healthcare setting
- Experience working within a respiratory setting (acute / community / social / volunteer)
- NVQ in rehabilitation / health / social care (or equivalent)
Desirable
- Experience working in community setting
- Previous Therapy Assistant work
- Sport and exercise degree or long term conditions equivalent
Patient records & documentation
Essential
- IT skills - use of word, excel, powerpoint
- Timely management of documentation in patient medical records
Desirable
- Experience using electronic patient record systems
- Experience of SystmOne
- Experience booking appointments (clinical admin)
Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Essential
- Delivery of group exercise / education sessions
- Experience in exercise prescription
- Understanding of PR benefits with respiratory conditions
Desirable
- Delivery of Pulmonary Rehabilitation, exercise +/- education components
- Awareness of PRSAS - accreditation scheme
- Experience of completing Pulmonary Rehab assessments (ISWT, strength testing, PROMs)
Respiratory knowledge
Essential
- Understanding of main respiratory conditions team commissioned to manage; COPD, Fibrosis and Bronchiectasi
- Ability to recognise the deterioration of a patient
Desirable
- Previous experience working with respiratory patients
- Aware of clinical guidelines (BTS, NICE)
Travel
Essential
- Car driver
- Access to vehicle for work purposes
Desirable
- Alternative mode of transport
