Job description
We are recruiting a Therapist Assistant to join our team! Southern Hill Hospital is preparing to open a new specialist Addiction Treatment Service for adults aged 18 and over, providing high-quality, person-centred support for individuals affected by substance misuse and co-occurring mental health needs. Our new service is being developed to offer compassionate, evidence-based care within a safe and therapeutic environment where individuals can begin rebuilding stability, confidence, and independence. Duties
Assist licensed occupational therapists in implementing therapy programmes tailored to individual patient needsSupport patients during therapy sessions, encouraging participation and engagementPrepare therapy materials and equipment required for sessionsMonitor patient progress and report observations to the supervising therapistMaintain accurate documentation of therapy activities and patient responsesSupport patients with daily activities, promoting independence and confidenceContribute to the organisation of therapy schedules and appointmentsUphold health and safety standards within the clinical environmentCommunicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to ensure cohesive care delivery Qualifications
Relevant qualification as an Occupational Therapist Assistant or equivalent recognised training programmeStrong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients of all ages and backgroundsProficiency in English, both written and spokenBasic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentationExperience or interest in teaching or guiding patients through therapeutic exercises is advantageousAbility to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary teamCompassionate approach with excellent organisational skillsCommitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to healthcare regulations This position is ideal for motivated individuals seeking a rewarding career supporting patient recovery and well-being.
