Essential

• Qualified in core profession (nursing, social work, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, arts therapy, psychotherapy, counselling, practitioner psychology) with current registration (e.g. HCPC, NMC, BABCP, UKCP) Or Recognised degree level broad based health & social care qualification which will require completion of The British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) Knowledge Skills and Attributes KSA Guidelines (babcp.com) as part of the application process
• Additional, accredited training in a specific therapeutic modality.

Desirable

• Post-graduate qualification in a field relevant to this post.

Essential

• Substantial experience of post-qualification work with children, young people and families
• Substantial experience working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary setting
• Experienced in and able to demonstrate proficiency in autonomous case management responsibility.
• Experience of assessing and managing risk, including safeguarding.
• Experience of mentoring and supervision of others.

Desirable

• Experience of working with gender-diverse children and young people.

Essential

• Working knowledge of health, education, social services and the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector.
• Relevant legislation, NICE guidance and government policies.
• Safety factors in management of self-harming behaviours and child protection issues
• An understanding of child development and psychological/psychosocial theories
• An understanding of evidence-based practice and the ability to demonstrate how this influences clinical practice.
• An understanding of the principles of Clinical Governance and a willingness to follow Trust Policy and Procedures.

• Knowledge of audit and evaluation methodology
• Knowledge and understanding of the research process.

Essential

• Ability to demonstrate application of therapeutic and analytical skills
• Able to demonstrate ability to be self-reflective in relation to practice.
• Ability to assess emergency/self-harming behaviour.
• Organisational skills to manage and prioritise workload balance appropriately.
• The ability to assess, formulate and manage care appropriately, ensuring discharge is timely.
• The ability to use assessment tools and outcome measures / ROMs effectively and in collaboration with the child, young person, and family.
• To be able to function as a part of a multi-disciplinary team and to liaise effectively with other agencies i.e., education, GPs, maintaining positive working relationships.
• The ability to follow policy and make proposals for change.
• The ability to work independently with the support of clinical and management supervision.
• The ability to maintain clinical records both written and electronic
