Amersham Theatres are looking for a Theatre Support Worker to join our growing team. As an elective surgery site for the trust, we support operations ...

  • Participate in circulating duties under the supervision of trained theatre staff
  • collect sets and instruments for operating lists
  • Maintain stock levels in the theatre and preparation areas
  • Work as a member of the theatre team
  • Carry out date checks on sterile instruments report any discrepancies

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Essential

  • GCSE A-C or Functional Skills in English and Maths (Level 1 or 2)

Desirable

  • Care Certificate in healthcare (Level 3)

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Understands nature of HCA duties Patient Care and Housekeeping duties

Desirable

  • Evidence of working in a busy environment
  • Experience in a customer focused environment
  • Previous experience in a health care setting

SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE

Essential

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with multi-disciplinary team, patients and carers in English
  • Courteous with patients and others both internal and external
  • Ability to write clearly and legibly in English
  • Able to perform simple mathematical calculations
  • Understands concept of confidentiality and standards of conduct and care
  • Ability to undertake HS&C level 3 apprenticeship (mandatory)

Desirable

  • Ability to use a computer

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES

Essential

  • Ability to work required shift pattern

Desirable

  • Can demonstrate they can motivate self and others
  • Has some insight into the care needs of the older people or those who are ill/ frail regardless of age
