The role is for a scrub practitioner, caring for patients undergoing planned Cardiothoracic surgery. We also provide an emergency service for patients requiring life saving interventions. Cardiothoracic Theatres operate Monday to Friday only. An On Call commitment is required to provide a 24 hour service. This commitment attracts an extra payment.

Education and Qualifications
Essential
- Registered General Nurse or ODP Qualification
- Current NMC / HCPC registration
- Diploma or Degree in relevant qualification
Knowledge & Skills
Essential
- Ability to work within a multi-professional team.
- Intermediate information and technology skills.
- To ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Reporting and processing of minor incidents and complaints.
- To act as an autonomous practitioner within professional and clinical guidelines.
- Ensure staff adhere to national, Trust and local policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ensure staff adhere to relevant NMC guidelines and Code of Professional Conduct.
- To provide clinical expertise within critical care providing person - centred care.
- Effective verbal & non-verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience
Essential
- Ability to work within the boundaries of the Professional Codes of Conduct.
- An awareness of Government Documents / policies in relation to changes within the NHS.
- Previous experience of working in an acute health care setting.
