The Administrator will be part of a small team responsible for providing a quality service for the Community Learning Disability Team. The post holder will show a willingness to travel from their base to the complete training in Stafford and support in other areas when needed.

Working within the service can at times be a stressful environment, by way of telephone calls, visitors, meetings and numerous daily interruptions. The post holder requires the ability to work under pressure, with conflicting demands at times.

Provide administrative support to the Community Learning Disability Team. Provide confidential and efficient word processing service, including the preparation of letters, reports from a variety of sources and have a working knowledge of Easy Read. Open, sort and distribute incoming post, prioritising and screening urgent correspondence ensuring it receives appropriate attention/direction. Undertake general office duties as required including filing, photocopying, faxing, scanning etc. Logging calls with the Trusts Service Desk for any building repairs, works etc. Ordering of equipment and stationery on the Trusts E-Procurement System whilst ensuring the correct procedures are adhered to and stock levels are maintained for the teams. Prioritise and manage own workload to meet the needs and requirements of the service demands. Work within parameters of established procedures and to seek advice when necessary. Provide cover for other administrative staff within the team as required. Follow policies relevant to own role. Meet and greet visitors to and from the Friary Centre and Cannock office as necessary.

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ 3 in Business Admin, finance, customer care, or relevant experience.
  • Good standard of general education.
  • RSA II typing or equivalent or can display word processing skills to an equivalent level of competence.

Experience

Essential

  • Previous administrative experience.
  • Previous demonstrable administrative experience within a health setting.
  • A good understanding of office procedures and an ability to develop admin systems.
  • Supports the work of a multi - disciplinary team.
  • Manage and prioritise own workload.
  • Dealing with the public.

Desirable: - Previous experience of working within the NHS.; - Experience of supporting LD team from an admin perspective.; - Use of RiO.; - Minute taking.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Essential

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Easy Read.
  • Excellent telephone skills.
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of team.
  • Proficient in the use of Office Package (i.e. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
