TB Support Worker

o Support individuals with tuberculosis (TB) to follow their treatment plans, including delivering Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) where requiredo Provide education and advice to patients, families, and carers about TB, treatment and infection controlo Assist with contact tracing and the follow-up of patients in community settingso Support vulnerable and hard-to-reach populations to access TB services and appropriate careo Monitor patient progress and promptly report any concerns or changes to the clinical teamo Maintain accurate, up to date, and confidential patient records in line with policyo Support TB notifications under the supervision of the TB Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)o Contribute to multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and service audits as requiredo Assist with monitoring treatment adherence for patients receiving TB therapyo Undertake home visits alongside the TB Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)o Carry out phlebotomy procedures in accordance with training, competency, and guidanceo Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and external agencies to ensure coordinated, patient centred care
