  • Independent living skills: Help young people develop essential life skills, including managing bills, cooking, cleaning, maintaining their accommodation and managing daily responsibilities.
  • Move-on to independent housing: Support young people to apply for suitable accommodation, understand tenancy agreements and develop the skills needed to sustain a tenancy and live independently.
  • Personalised support planning: Work with young people to identify their needs, set achievable goals, develop individual support plans and review their progress.
  • Wellbeing and personal development: Build positive relationships, promote confidence and resilience, and support young people to make informed decisions about their future.
  • Signposting and partnership working: Work with local authorities, Jobcentres, healthcare providers and other agencies to connect young people with appropriate services and opportunities.
  • Housing management and safeguarding: Assist with tenancy-related matters, complete needs and risk assessments, identify safeguarding concerns and maintain accurate support records.

  • Experience working in housing management, supported housing, homelessness services or housing-related support.
  • Knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation and an understanding of the social care sector.
  • An understanding of the needs of young people and vulnerable customers living in supported accommodation, supported living or the community.
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits and the ability to support customers with benefit applications and financial matters.
  • Basic financial competency and the ability to help customers develop effective budgeting skills.
  • A proactive, positive and flexible approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience supporting young people aged 16–24 in supported accommodation.
  • Experience providing outreach, resettlement or tenancy sustainment support.
  • IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
