Job description
Are you an experienced Care Worker looking for a rewarding, high-hours contract supporting remote communities across Scotland's islands? We are currently recruiting dedicated Support Workers for 3-month minimum contracts delivering care at home across Shetland, Orkney, the Western Isles, and Argyll & Bute. Pay Rate: £21.00 per hour (Umbrella) |
£17.91 per hour (PAYE, rolled-up holiday pay)
Contract Length: 3-month minimum contract
Hours: High-volume work (45+ hours per week)
Location: Candidates can be based anywhere in the UK, but must be willing to deploy to Shetland, Orkney, the Western Isles, or Argyll & Bute.
Shift Patterns & Schedule
Coverage: Home care visits supporting adults within their own homes, running between 07:00 and 23:00 (multiple visits per day with varying shift times).
Work Pattern: Expect to work 5 to 6 days per week. Full flexibility across all days of the week is required.
Essential Requirements
Driving: UK Driving License and access to a personal vehicle are mandatory. (Note: A valid UK Driving License is strictly required for Orkney placements).
Care Experience: Minimum 1 year of UK care experience supporting older adults in care at home or residential settings.
Core Skills: Must be fully competent in delivering personal care, executing safe moving and handling, administering medication, and working independently (lone working).
Desirable Experience: Previous experience working on island or remote placements, as well as care-at-home background, is highly beneficial.
Gender Preference: Female staff are strongly preferred due to specific personal care requirements, though male applicants may be considered for select packages.
