Job description
Are you passionate about making a genuine difference in a young person's life? We are seeking dedicated and empathetic Support Workers to join our team in Bracknell. Our supported living service provides a safe, nurturing environment for young people aged 16 - 18 as they navigate the crucial transition into adulthood. We don't just provide a roof over their heads, we equip them with the tangible life skills they need to thrive.
What You Will Do: Prioritise Safety & Wellbeing: Ensure the physical and emotional safety of our young people remains paramount during this transition period.
Build Independence: Mentor residents in developing everyday life skills (cooking, budgeting, managing appointments).
Support Pathways: Help young people engage with our unique apprenticeship and trade skill programmes to prepare them for independent living.
Be a Trusted Adult: Provide a listening ear, set positive boundaries, and act as a reliable role model.
Shift Patterns Available: We offer flexible shift patterns to fit your lifestyle, though flexibility is required to meet the needs of the service:
Early: 08:00 - 16:00
Late: 12:00 - 20:00
Note: Early and late shifts may occasionally be combined into a long day.
Waking Nights: 20:00 - 08:00
What We Are Looking For: A resilient, patient, and empathetic nature with a passion for supporting young people.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle challenging situations calmly.
Prior experience in health and social care, youth work, or supported living is a plus, but a great attitude and values-driven approach are most important.
