Support Worker – Surrey
Location: Surrey Salary: £16 - £18.50 per hour Job type: Temporary Shifts: Days, evenings, nights and weekends available About the role We are recruiting caring, reliable and motivated Support Workers to support adults and young people across Surrey. As a Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to individuals with a range of needs, which may include learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities and complex care needs. You will help service users live as independently as possible while promoting their dignity, choice, wellbeing and safety. Key responsibilities Your duties may include:
Supporting individuals with daily living activitiesAssisting with personal care when requiredSupporting with meal preparation, shopping and household tasksHelping service users attend appointments and community activitiesEncouraging independence, confidence and life skillsProviding companionship and emotional supportSupporting individuals with their hobbies, interests and social activitiesFollowing individual support plans and risk assessmentsObserving and reporting changes in a service user’s wellbeing or behaviourCompleting accurate daily notes and care recordsSupporting with medication in line with training and company proceduresFollowing safeguarding, confidentiality and health and safety proceduresWorking closely with families, colleagues and healthcare professionals Requirements Applicants should have:
Previous experience as a Support Worker, Care Assistant or Healthcare AssistantA caring, patient and respectful approachExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsThe ability to remain calm in challenging situationsReliability, flexibility and good time-management skillsThe ability to work independently and as part of a teamA commitment to promoting dignity, independence and person-centred supportThe right to work in the UK A relevant qualification in Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential, as training may be provided. A full UK driving licence may be beneficial for some roles but is not always essential. Successful candidates will be required to complete appropriate pre-employment checks, including references and an enhanced DBS check. What we offer
