About the recipient
18-year-old female in Bridlington requires a support worker or 2 support workers to support for 10 hours per week. During term time this will be to be carried out across weekends. During the educational holidays, this will be for 2 hours mon to fri.
She is a friendly and sociable young woman who enjoys meeting new people and building positive relationships. She has an outgoing personality and enjoys being active in her community. Her interests include shopping, dining out, listening to music, dancing, drawing, and colouring.
She would benefit from support to maintain her personal care routines, including prompts with washing and choosing clean clothing each day. She requires encouragement to develop and maintain independent living skills, including meal preparation, time management, attending appointments, and managing her medication safely.
When out in the community, she requires support with road safety, using public transport, and managing money, as she can find these tasks challenging. She is developing her confidence in travelling independently and is currently learning to use buses and trains to visit friends, although she continues to require reassurance and prompting.
She attends a wellbeing club every Monday evening, which she thoroughly enjoys and looks forward to each week. Music is particularly important to her and is an effective way for her to relax and regulate her emotions when feeling anxious or overwhelmed.
The successful applicant will be patient, encouraging, and able to provide consistent support to help her build confidence, develop independence, and access social and community opportunities safely.
We are looking for someone who is experienced, skilled and has previous care and support experience in working with young adults who have Autism and ADHD. She tends to get obsessed with people easily too so they will need to be patient and caring, reliable and trustworthy. She likes to go out shopping and for meals so having a car would benefit for her as well. We also have 2 pugs, so being comfortable around pets is ideal too.
