The Supplies Inventory Assistants are the backbone of the Supplies department fulfilling a vital role in the Supply chain of clinical goods, clinical equipment, drugs, and consumables, ensuring each Trust department has the supplies they need to deliver outstanding patient care.
The postholder must be able to drive a Luton type delivery vehicle as work will often require courier deliveries across East of England and will involve manual handling, computer work and warehouse duties.
The postholder will be allocated tasks by the Supplies Inventory Coordinator, Supplies Supervisor or Supplies Manager and will be flexible in completing the tasks allocated.
You'll have the opportunity to work in one of the most diverse regions in the country, with the vibrant capital city just a stone's throw away and the invigorating North Sea coast to the east.

Experience
Essential: - Experience of working in a customer-focused environment.
Desirable
- Experience of working within the NHS and an understanding of current issues.
- Experience of working in a stores/stock control or administrative environment.
Qualifications
Essential
- General standard of education.
- NVQ level 3 in appropriate subject or relevant experience.
- Full UK Driving Licence including category C1 (maximum 6 points, dependent on code).
Desirable: - ECDL pass.; - English and Maths GCSEs or equivalent.
Skills and Knowledge
Essential
- Ability to use handheld PDA barcode reader.
- Ability to use IT systems such as NHS Supply Chain, Agresso, eProcurement, email.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and ability to use bespoke packages, after training.
- Keyboard skills.
- Project work.
- Ability to take personal responsibility for Continued Professional Development through the personal development review process and knowledge and skills framework.
- Ability to transport goods including consumable stock, mail, pharmacy, medical records, linen, etc, to and from locations within a specified schedule, to agreed standards.
Desirable: - Knowledge of MS Excel, Word.

- Ability to complete daily routine vehicle checks, defects, maintenance, accident reports, timesheets and other information in accordance with Trust Policy and ISO 9001:2015(en).
