We are recruiting a street warden to help improve safety in Great Dunmow town centre.

Location: Great Dunmow Town Council
Contract type: Fixed term contract (12 months) or secondment (12 months) - 1 x full time or 2 x part-time posts
Salary: £32,046 per annum full time, or pro-rata if part-time
Uttlesford Community Safety Partnership (CSP) together with Great Dunmow Town Council are seeking a proactive, community-focused individual to join Great Dunmow Town Council as a Street Warden. This role is key to improving the safety and overall environment of Dunmow town centre.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide a reassuring uniformed patrol presence in the town centre, addressing concerns such as anti-social behaviour and environmental crime through patrols, proactive relationship building and working closely with partner agencies including Police and the District Council. As a Street Warden you will become a valued and flexible resource, supporting council aims to make Great Dunmow a safe, clean and welcoming environment.
As a Street Warden, you will actively focus on addressing concerns around ASB, Crime and Environmental Crime by patrolling specific geographical locations within the town and getting to know the local community. You will play a key role in improving the quality of life for residents. Collaborating closely with key partners, local businesses and residents.
You will need to have a UK driving licence and access to a car.

Purpose of the role
To support the council's commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming town centre, and reducing the fear of crime through a consistent and visible presence.
- conduct high-visibility patrols within Great Dunmow
- support other agencies with evidence gathering for Anti-Social Behaviour and environmental offences.
- provide reassurance to members of the public
- address anti-social behaviour and environmental offences
- issue Fixed Penalty Notices where appropriate
- work closely with partner agencies
