Sterile Services Assistant

The main duties of the role are the collection of used surgical instruments, preparing the instruments for the washer disinfector. The reassembly of the surgical instrument trays, closely inspecting for cleanliness and damage, wrapping of the surgical instruments. The sterilisation and delivery of the reprocessed surgical instruments.

There will be limited duties of the above as this is a temporary post.

To undertake general duties within the Sterile Services

Department including cleaning, inspecting, testing, assembling, checking,

packing and sterilising of theatre instruments, ward instruments and operating

theatre instrument trays. To collect and

deliver items to Wards, Departments and Theatres

Qualifications

Desirable: - Recognised qualification in Sterile Services IDSC, NVQ or similar

Experience

Desirable: - Previous work in Sterile Services or clean room manufacturing department/hospital setting
