The roles involve;
Nurse led counselling and assessment of women wishing to terminate their pregnancy including obtaining informed consent for procedures.
Offer compassionate, non-judgmental support
Nurse led counselling and assessment of women experiencing miscarriage
Postal treatment for early medical termination
Clinical support for surgical termination procedures in an outpatient setting
Pre and post-operative care in the ward areas
Willingness to develop skills in contraception and reproductive health?

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of termination of pregnancy procedures or a willingness to learn.

Deliver nurse led consultations to patients seeking termination of pregnancy in a non-judgemental, non directional way.
To be responsible for the assessment of patient care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of plans of care, ensuring high standards of evidence based care, using a defined model/care pathway in conjunction with senior staff.
Ensure safe administration of medication according to Trust policy and procedures
Caring for patients both pre and post operatively

Qualifications and Learning
Essential: - RGN; - Evidence of recent professional updating and relevant personal development
Desirable: - R71 Contraception and Reproductive Sexual Health Certificate or equivalent; - Mentorship in Practice/ ENB998

Essential: - Experience of developing plans of care; - Health Promotion
