Candidates need to be flexible, enthusiastic and reliable- working independently and as part of a team.

The unit is predominantly nurse led with input from other members of the multi- disciplinary team in order to provide a high standard of care to patients both pre- operatively and post operatively. You will be involved in the admission process as well as the discharge planning of a small group of patients each shift and be expected to access, plan, implement and evaluate their care needs.

Provide skills in checking setting up and first line maintenance of peri-operative equipment within own competence

Essential: - Experience working in a surgical/theatre/endoscopy setting

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to assess and treat patients independently and with confidence
  • Awareness of NMC competence/accountability requirements
  • Ability to be in charge of the department on an occasional basis
  • Ability to provide health promotion
