This post is based at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading. The post holder will be participating in:

  • Contributing to the neuro inpatient caseload, delivering therapy plans to service users and their families.
  • Delivering group therapy where appropriate.
  • Working as part of a team.
  • Supporting with development of resources for use with service users.
  • Contribution to data collection and recording, to support with service delivery and outcomes.

Education and qualifications

Essential

  • Good standard of spoken and written English
  • A levels or equivalent

Desirable

  • Level 5 qualification or equivalent
  • CPD portfolio - evidence of attendance at short courses, formal training

Experience

Essential

  • Basic understanding of the role of SLT in Acute Neuro setting

Desirable

  • 2 years experience as an SLTA

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to organise workload and manage time
  • Ability to be a good team member

Desirable

  • Knowledge of standards of record keeping
