You will support adults with a wide range of assessed care and support needs including people with learning disabilities, older adults, and individuals with complex needs such as autism, dementia, distressed behaviour and health related conditions. Your work will help people stay connected, develop skills, and lead fulfilling lives.

  • Creative, positive and outgoing

  • A great team player who also feels confident using their own initiative
  • Adaptable and calm when supporting people during challenging or emotional moments
  • Motivated by helping people live well, safely and with dignity

  • Strong communication skills, including adapting your approach to suit different communication styles

  • The ability to remain calm, reassuring and solution focused during difficulties
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and safe working practices

  • Basic IT skills to record information and use digital systems
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • Willingness to complete manual handling training (or current experience)

You’ll be part of Calderdale Council’s Integrated Day Services, working across welcoming centres:

  • Halifax – Higgins Close
  • Rastrick – Lower Edge

Services operate Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm giving you a healthy work life balance with no evening or weekend work.

By joining us, you’ll play a vital role in:

  • Supporting daily activities and routines
  • Creating meaningful, enjoyable experiences for people
  • Helping us maintain safe staffing levels during an important service review
  • Contributing to a team committed to compassion, respect and positivity
  • Shaping the next chapter of day services in Calderdale
