Surrey Downs Health & Care Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Speech and Language Therapist looking to develop your expertise in neurorehabilitatio...
- Working autonomously as a Specialist SLT within the community MDT, delivering a specialist standard of assessment, clinical diagnosis, treatment and management of communication and swallowing impairments in adults.
- Providing differential diagnosis of communication/swallowing impairments, identifying patient-centred SMART goals and offering appropriate therapy programmes.
- With support from senior members of the team, taking a lead role in the delivery of SLT services in Stroke Supported Discharge.
- Continuing to develop skills in communication and dysphagia management; staying up to date with the current evidence base; providing specialist training to other professionals; and assisting with the development of therapists/ assistants/ students.
- Supporting the leadership of the CNRT in research, development and evaluation of services/ policies.

Qualifications
Essential
- Qualified Speech & Language Therapist
- Completed dysphagia competencies
Experience
Essential
- HCPC Registration
- Experience of working in adult neurology in NHS
Desirable
- RCSLT membership
- Minimum of 2 years working with adults
- Experience in videofluoroscopy
- Experience working in stroke
- Experience working with non-neuro dysphagia caseload
Skills
Essential
- Evidence of autonomy working with broad adult caseload
- Evidence of MDT working
Desirable
- Completed audit/ service development
- Delivered training
Other
Essential
- Valid licence to drive in UK with access to vehicle for work purposes
